About
Finding Calm Within is a one-day retreat created with care for people living with or beyond cancer or chronic illness — and for those who love and support them.
This is not a day about pushing through, performing wellness, or finding the strength to cope. It is simply an invitation to rest, to be held gently, and to meet yourself exactly as you are right now.
Set within the quiet coastal beauty of Nant Gwrtheyrn on the Llŷn Peninsula, the day is intentionally slow, flexible, and trauma-informed. There is always space to rest, step back, or simply be still whenever you need it. Nothing is required of you here.
The Day at a Glance
10.00am – Welcome & Gentle Introduction
The day opens with a warm welcome, grounding, and gentle mindfulness with Wendy Dineen, Mindful Coach. A quiet settling-in with no pressure, no expectations — just space to arrive.
10.30am – Gentle Movement
An accessible, fully adaptable yoga session led by Wendy. Every practice can be done seated or lying down, and you are always encouraged to move only in ways that feel right for your body today. There is no right or wrong here.
11.30am – Morning Break & Walk to the Café
Time to stretch, take in some fresh coastal air, and settle in at your own pace.
12.00pm – Nourishing Lunch
A wholesome Buddha bowl lunch is included in your place. Dietary requirements are warmly catered for — just let us know in advance.
1.00pm – EFT Tapping for Emotional Wellbeing
With Julianne Alexander, Advanced EFT Practitioner.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often called tapping, is a gentle, chair-based practice that supports the nervous system and emotional wellbeing. No talking about your experiences is required — this session works quietly alongside you, not through you.
2.30pm – Afternoon Break
Refreshments and a moment to rest.
2.45pm – Sound Bath & Quiet Reflection
With Laura, Dear Soul Holistic.
The afternoon closes with a deeply restful sound bath using singing bowls, chimes, and other instruments, followed by optional journalling and quiet reflection.
Energy balls and refreshments are provided.
Closing of the Day
Final thoughts, gentle sharing (if you wish), and a calm close to our time together.
Extra Information
What Is EFT Tapping?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often called tapping, is a gentle, research-informed practice that combines light touch on specific points on the face and body with quiet focus. It works by sending calming signals to the nervous system, helping to soften the body’s stress response — often without needing to talk about or revisit difficult experiences at all.
Many people notice a sense of settling or release during or after a session — a feeling of being a little lighter, less braced, or more at ease.
The session is chair-based, fully clothed, and led with care. You are simply invited to follow along at whatever pace feels comfortable for you.
What Is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is one of the most effortless and restorative experiences you can offer yourself. You lie or sit comfortably, fully clothed, while soothing sounds and vibrations wash gently over you. There is nothing to do and no way to do it wrong.
Many people find themselves drifting into deep rest or calm. Sometimes emotions, memories, or tears may surface — this is a natural response when the body feels safe enough to soften. Whatever arises is welcome and held with care. There is no right or wrong experience.
Bringing a Support Person
You are very welcome to bring a friend, partner, or someone you trust. They are welcome to take part in everything the day offers, or simply to sit quietly beside you.
No previous experience with yoga, meditation, or EFT is needed.
What to Bring
• Yoga mat
• Warm, loose, comfortable clothing
• A cosy blanket
• A pillow
• An eye mask (if you’d like one)
Before the day, you’ll receive a short questionnaire asking whether you’d prefer a chair for the movement session, and about any dietary requirements or other needs. This helps us prepare a comfortable and considerate space for everyone.
A Gentle Reminder
Everything offered throughout the day is entirely optional and invitational. You are always free to rest, observe, step outside, or simply be still. This is a space rooted in compassion, dignity, and care — not performance or expectation.
If you have any questions, accessibility needs, or anything you’d like to share with us privately before the day, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you.
We look forward to welcoming you.
